About the Workplace Charging Scheme
In 2022 the Office of Zero Emissions Vehicles launched the Workplace Charging Scheme. This was aimed at allowing organisations such as schools, colleges, and academies become eligle for up to 75% off the installation of new charge points on their premises (including VAT).
With a maximum of £350 per charging point and for up to an including 40 chargers, this entitles eligible customers up to £14,000 in funding towards their move to electrification. This funding is designed to support students, parents, visitors and staff.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is in fact a voucher-based scheme that provides eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle (EV) charge points. It’s available in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but not yet in the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
