Preventative maintenance
Preventive maintenance is often overlooked until it is too late.
Fuel is a degrading agent over time, and you run the risk of fuel system infrastructure failure if you do not carry out regular maintenance.
The Planned Preventative Maintenance Contract from RSM Environmental provides peace of mind your fuel infrastructure is in good working order and meeting OFTEC (Oil Firing Technical Association) standards.
Why planned preventative maintenance is important and necessary?
Having planned maintenance tests and reports conducted each year ensures that no risk is left unrecognised or unactioned.
It means any required remedial action is emphasised, enabling you to make an informed decision on how to manage your stored fuel infrastructure.
In respect of compliance, RSM Fuel Management is a UK and Ireland fuel spillage accredited supplier, this means we can make sure you are accommodating all Environment Agency guidelines. From an audit prospective, it means you have electronic report copies and portal access to legacy reports.
Prevention is better – and cheaper – than a crisis.
Avoid a crisis by signing up for a RSM Fuel Management Planned Preventative Maintenance Contract now.
Enhancing the longevity of your fuel system
Fuel storage tanks come with a limited warranty. Regular testing beyond that warranty period is best practice.
Reducing any risk to the environment
Any environmental risk in the form of a fuel spillage is caught in good time, without being left unchecked.
Any downtime could prove costly
Our report will highlight any and all potential and immediate risks, including the risk of failure due to fuel quality – saving you from costly and non-productive downtime.
Audit requirements
Annual audit requirements, and in some cases insurance policies, require annual/regular testing of critical infrastructure.
What is included in our Planned Preventative Maintenance Contract?
RSM will provide an annual individual fuel tank inspection, and our OFTEC-registered engineers will also test the integrity of your fuel, and fuel systems.
This service will compare your current infrastructure to that of the most recent oil storage regulations and will inform an official OFTEC report. Whilst on site, our qualified engineers will also take a representative core fuel sample from inside your tank.
The annual report will highlight all potential and immediate risks, including the risk of failure due to fuel quality.
Presented in an easy-to-digest format, and with a helpful red, amber, and green presentation so you can quickly see the status of each element, our report will include recommendations and granular detail on remedial works where necessary.
Notably but not limited to, the report will cover:
Bund inspection
This is a visual inspection of your bund(s).
Fuel tank test
Testing the pressure of your fuel tank(s).
Fuel testing
A fuel sample review (visual review from sample taken on day of survey) will be carried out, followed by fuel sample results produced in an independent UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) approved laboratory.
OFTEC compliance recommendations
Our report will ensure your infrastructure meets OFTEC regulations for fuel tanks used by commercial businesses.
How much will it cost?
An annual inspection, comprising of a fuel sample test, a tank test, and an OFTEC report is £400 per tank, per year (excluding VAT).
This price is a contractual agreement and is only available for contracted customers who commit to a 24/36-month preventative maintenance contract.
